I’m Eva Mili, a knitwear designer and life-long knitter from Lithuania. I learnt to knit at art school when I was eight years old, taught by my art teacher, and I’ve had needles in my hands for almost forty years now. From the very beginning I loved “knitting from my head” – playing with shapes, inventing constructions, and trying out ideas that didn’t exist in patterns.

Since I was fifteen, I’ve also been designing and sewing clothes for myself and my family. Sewing taught me how garment construction really works on the body and how pieces come together.

After completing my Master’s degree in Computer Science I worked as a software developer, where my love for structure and algorithms really grew. When I became a mother, I moved into photography and spent years working as a photographer. In recent years I have been painting in oils, using an impressionistic wet-on-wet technique and bold palette-knife strokes to tell soft, poetic stories on canvas. In 2025 I brought all of these threads together and started designing knitwear. From sewing I brought an understanding of garment construction, from painting a sense of composition and aesthetics, and from photography the ability to illustrate my patterns with clear, high-quality images. I decided to combine knitting with programming, using algorithms to support the way I naturally think about structure. This is how my current designs were born – patterns that come together with the help of a custom-fit pattern generator.

Each pattern is written so your knitting can be adjusted to almost any yarn and almost any size. Instead of changing your gauge or hunting for the “right” yarn, you can knit with the yarn you love and customize the pattern to fit the person who will wear it.

My goal is to create clear, thoughtfully engineered patterns that feel a little bit like a small technical adventure – but with plenty of guidance, so you never have to figure things out alone.
